How the work is organized

Initiatives.

Decent Technologies organizes its decentralized work into four initiatives. Each gathers projects we build, sponsor, or advise — so it's clear how the pieces fit, and who is steering what.

§ I-01Initiative

Organic Intelligence.

Sustainable, local-first AI — and the discipline to use less of it.

A decentralized stack for working with models on your own terms: small, local, accountable. We measure what AI costs the world, and we build tools that escalate to powerful models only when truly necessary.

§ I-02Initiative

Guardian Grid.

A decentralized backup grid for communications and modest power.

Open-hardware mesh nodes (Freebird) and balcony-scale solar storage (ePod) woven into a community-owned resilience layer. When centralized infrastructure stumbles, neighborhoods stay coordinated.

§ I-03Initiative

Project Lightweave.

Tech & AI opportunities for indigenous and frontline communities.

In partnership with the Indigo Project, we equip indigenous communities with vibe-coding, automation, and locally-governed tools — building decentralized teams of Earth Guardians.

§ I-04Initiative

Civic Accountability.

Independent research and transparency on platforms & power.

From investigating algorithmic suppression to watching the watchers, this initiative funds independent, decentralized research bodies that hold platforms and surveillance vendors to account.
